The Learning Hypothesis

Math made easy.

Hey! Reader

So it is spring and at my house that can mean a flurry of activity to prevent losing ground on subjects that the kids (and I) were slacking off in during winter. For two of my kids, that is always gonna be math.

As a trained scientist, it breaks my heart to see kids not develop a strong math foundation. I've seen the first hand impact it can have on college students

It is a subject that is foundational to so many other disciplines and career goals. So you need skills, but it needs to be doable. If you've been around a while, you know I like easy and efficient because it means it is more likely to get done.

One of our resources in our toolkit is CTCMath.

CTCMath is a flexible program that can be used as a stand alone homeschool curriculum or as a supplement for students that need extra practice or need more of a challenge.

The highlights to the program include:

  • Learn at your pace, not somebody else's
  • Stop and rewind the teacher until you get it
  • Build confidence
  • 24 x 7 unlimited access when you want it
  • Catch up or get ahead

There are diagnostic tests that help you determine both where the kids need to start working (pinpointing specific areas of weakness, like factoring) and when they have mastered a concept. There are actual lessons with questions so that students can work through the concepts. You can set your own bar for mastery and decide if mastery has to be achieved before moving on.

CTCMath is like having a math tutor in my pocket. Plus my kids get to have their pets snuggled up next to them.

The annual subscription is a great deal!

All the Best,

Kim
